Upon making a reservation, we require a credit card.
All reservations are subject a full refund if cancelled 30 days prior to your reservation. The full amount will be charged 15 days prior to arrival and is non-refundable. If cancelled after the 30 day and before the 15 day charge, a one night fee will be charged.
Although we do our absolute best to accommodate your room choice, management reserves the right to change rooms in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Rest assured, we will always guarantee a room comparable to your original request.
Late Departure Policy
Check-out is at 11:00 am. Late departures (after 1:00p.m.), unless previously discussed with the innkeeper, will result in a charge of ONE ADDITIONAL NIGHT (this charge does not guarantee the departing guest accommodations), as well as any additional fees associated with booking alternative accommodations for the incoming guest. Our housekeeping staff needs the time after check-out and before check-in to prepare guest rooms for all arriving guests, and any delay can cause the room to not be ready in time for the next guest.

The Samuel Sewall Inn welcomes families travelling with pets. The Inn needs to be informed prior to arrival and there is one-time $30 pet cleaning fee assessed. Please let us know if you need a dog crate or bowl. A pet packet will already be in your room.
The Samuel Sewall Inn can accommodate guests with disabilities in one of our 4 first-floor guest rooms. Our ramp is located on the left side of the house, and we have handicap service amenities in select rooms, available upon request.
Massachusetts State Law prohibits smoking inside of all hotels. There will be a $250 non-refundable fee for deep cleaning services charged to any room that has been smoked in to restore it back to its non-smoking condition.
Damage to the property, including but not limited to guest rooms, fixtures, furnishings, artwork, décor or linens, will result in a charge of 120% of fair replacement value or necessary cleaning.
Lost & Found Policy
The Inn will make a reasonable effort to contact guests after departure if they have left any belongings on the premises. We will ship items back at owner’s expense. If we are unable to reach the guest(s), the items will be placed in our Lost & Found. Any items that remain in the Lost & Found will be donated to charity or discarded after 60 days.
Overnight street parking is not permitted in Brookline; if you do so, you will incur a $30 citation and we are not responsible.
Please park in our lot located in the front of the house, on Sewall Avenue or ask about
parking lot behind the Bertram Inn on St. Paul Street.
Parking is first come, first served and costs $20 per night per space. Neither the Bertram and/or Samuel Sewall Inn shall assume responsibility for any vehicle, occupants or contents while operated or parked on our property.
Some parking charges will be taken 48 hours prior to arrival, at time of check-in, or prior
to check out.
